The PREMISE
Amid the chaos of Fairywood Studios, Gretel - once a beloved child star - now hustles behind the scenes as a production assistant after her classic fairytale plummeted in the ratings. When eccentric studio executive Jerry Von Moonbeam takes a shine to her fiery spirit, he hands her the opportunity of a lifetime: her very own talk show.
The catch? To greenlight the project, Gretel must reunite the dysfunctional, unpredictable cast of her old story… including her estranged and neurotic brother Hansel and the formidable Gloria the Wicked Witch; Jerry’s dangerous former flame and walking HR violation.

Liv (Book) is a writer who’s debut play Anomaly was named one of the best shows of 2019 by The Spectator after a sold out run and was transferred to South America in 2022.
Turner & Warden’s musical theatre debut was an early version of Gretel! A New Musical at the The Other Palace Studio in 2019. It then went on to be developed with MAST Mayflower Studios, Southampton. Their most recent show, Lightning Boy, was premiered by NYMT at Birmingham Hippodrome as part of their 2025 summer season after being previewed at West End Live earlier that year.
